Born and raised in a lower-middle-class family hailing from a small town, I consider myself privileged; soaked in the Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb of the town that is Allahabad; whistled with gusto while watching blockbusters in dingy single-screen ‘talkies’; learned to speak in chaste Hindi and appreciate work by literary giants from the city. It has also been a privilege to graduate with a gold medal in Film Editing from the prestigious Film & Television Institute of India, Pune

It’s these experiences that have shaped me into becoming the storyteller I am today.

After moving to Mumbai, I sharpened my craft editing a few iconic films before moving on to direction. The stories, characters, and subtle nuances that capture the true essence of what is India, fascinate me and my endeavour has always been to use cinematic tools to recreate it as honestly as I can.

When not in front or behind a camera, I can be found reading or cooking—both food and stories!
